Why Finance Through RDK

More Than Just A Dealer

We've been selling refuse trucks since 1997. We know what lenders want to see on commercial truck applications, and we work with multiple equipment lenders to find you competitive structures.

Multiple Lender Relationships

Rather than locking you into one bank, we shop your application across our network of commercial equipment lenders so you can compare rates and terms across structures.

Specialized In Refuse Trucks

Commercial refuse trucks aren't standard equipment. Our lenders understand the residual values, useful life, and specific applications of front loaders, rear loaders, roll-offs, and grapples.

Fast Application Turnaround

Most commercial equipment applications get a decision within 24–48 hours. We help you prepare a complete application package up front to avoid back-and-forth delays.

New, Used & Off-Lease

Financing isn't just for new trucks. Our lender network finances used and off-lease refuse trucks too, so you can match financing structure to truck price and condition.

Common Questions

Financing FAQs

What credit score do I need to finance a refuse truck?
Commercial equipment financing typically looks at both your business credit profile and your personal credit. While there's no single cutoff, most lenders in our network can work with applicants who have a personal FICO of 650+, though stronger credit unlocks better rates. Time in business (typically 2+ years), annual revenue, and a clean business credit history also factor heavily. New businesses with strong personal credit can sometimes still qualify through a personal guarantee. The best way to know your options is to apply — the application itself doesn't commit you.
How much down payment is typically required?
In many cases, ongoing, established refuse companies require little to no down payment — our lender network knows the industry and works with proven fleets that have a track record. For commercial refuse trucks more broadly, down payment requirements vary based on credit profile, time in business, and the truck being financed. Typical down payments range from 10–20% of the purchase price, though established fleets with strong credit can sometimes finance with less down, and certain lease structures may require little to no down payment. Newer businesses or applicants with credit challenges may need higher down payments to offset lender risk.
How long does the approval process take?
Most commercial equipment loan applications receive a credit decision within 24–48 business hours. Once approved, funding and document signing typically follow within 3–7 business days depending on lender requirements and the time needed to coordinate title and registration. We can usually have the truck ready to deliver as soon as funding clears. If you're working toward a year-end Section 179 deadline, talk to us early to allow time for the full process.
Can I finance a used truck?
Yes. Our lender network finances both new and used refuse trucks, including units from our off-lease inventory. Used truck financing usually has shorter maximum terms than new (typically 36–60 months versus 60–84 for new), and rates may be slightly higher because the lender accounts for additional depreciation risk. Used trucks still qualify for Section 179 deduction as long as the truck is new to your business.
What's the difference between a loan and a lease?
An equipment loan means you own the truck outright and finance the purchase price, building equity with each payment. An equipment lease means you're paying for the use of the truck over a term, with options at the end (purchase, return, upgrade, or renew). Leases typically have lower monthly payments but you don't build ownership equity. Both have valid use cases — loans suit operators who want long-term ownership, leases suit operators on regular replacement cycles. Tax treatment also differs: loan interest is deductible while full lease payments may be deductible. Consult your tax advisor for your specific situation.
Can I trade in my current truck as part of financing?
Yes. Trade-in value reduces the amount you need to finance just like a down payment does. We appraise your current truck and apply its value to the new purchase. This is often the easiest way to upgrade your fleet without needing significant cash on hand. Use our calculator above to model how a trade-in changes your monthly payment.
